Your Kibin Editor Profile
Your editor profile is linked on Kibin’s Browse Editors page and publicly visible to anyone online. IMPORTANT: Your profile “card” will not display on the Browse Editors page until all fields of your profile are filled out. This prevents the page from looking like it's populated with fake bots instead of real, awesome humans.
Filling out your profile is important for a few different reasons. First, it allows Kibin users the chance to get to know you better and eliminates the faceless, impersonal nature of remote editing. Also, many users write in and ask for editor recommendations based on their specific needs. It’s easier for us to send writers your way if your profile is fully fleshed out. Lastly, your editor profile also helps showcase Kibin's expertise, authority, and trust, all of which benefit Kibin's SEO rankings. Higher rankings = more users and more available jobs! 🎉
To help users know who is actively editing at Kibin, the Editors page only displays your editor card if you have edited at least one document within the last 90 days. (A link to your profile is always available to all users who have worked with you in the past.)
View & Edit Your Profile
Click “View My Profile” in the navigation menu to see how your profile looks to prospective clients. “Edit My Profile” directs you to an editable version of the page. Click each text field to edit it. For one-line fields, press “Enter” to save your changes. Longer text entries will have a "Save" or “Cancel” button.
The top of your profile displays the basics: your name, photo/avatar, and location as well as the “stats” of your Kibin editing tenure. This shows your Kibin “street cred,” so to speak, and lets users know how active you are as a Kibin editor. These stats update in real-time as you complete edits (trusted editors only) or as clients “like” your profile.
Your location is automatically set to the country of residence from your settings. You can update this to include your city and state, just your city, just your state/country, or leave it as is. (25 character limit)
Logged in users can also “like” your profile with the “Like this Editor!” button. Once you become a trusted Kibin editor, users can send you a direct request to edit a document using the “Request This Editor!” button.
The right-side column gives users an “at a glance” overview of your credentials and relevant experience/information. They will also see your availability (set here) and segment badges. Utilize the starred list to draw attention to any personal “stats” and skills you want to highlight. Many editors list their education, years of editing experience, and that they are a native speaker. Are you good at IEEE style? Do you specialize in a specific type of editing? Editors also include style guides they’re familiar with, information about their writing or editing experience, and other related interests. You can share as many or as few items as you wish.
Your Bio
- Please don’t include personal contact information. This profile is exclusively meant for you to communicate with Kibin users in your capacity as a Kibin editor.
- Please write your profile in first-person. Third-person feels too impersonal for our “real human editing” approach.
- While humor and personality are strongly encouraged, please keep your profile professional and family-friendly.
- Check out our Voice and Tone Guide to understand more about Kibin's brand voice if you’d like to adopt some of those guidelines for the tone of your profile.
Profile Badges
There are two types of badges on your Kibin editor profile: segment badges and doc type badges (new as of fall 2022). Some users believe an editor is not “qualified” to edit their document if the document type is not discussed on an editor’s profile. While we know this isn’t the case, we added profile badges to easily show users the wide range of documents you can edit.
Segment Badges
Segment badges correlate with each of Kibin’s editing segments. They display in the right-side column underneath your availability and cannot be edited by you. The segment badge will display when you have access to any doc type within that segment. At this time, “Businesses” will be the only segment badge missing from some editor profiles.
Doc Type Badges
Doc type badges are shown in the “Request” section and match the document types you can access in the Kibin queue. For instance, if you do not have access to business documents, you won’t see business doc type badges.
By default, all applicable doc type badges are displayed on your profile. You do have the ability to hide any doc type badges that you’d prefer not to display. For instance, if you’re not fond of editing resumes or poetry, you can choose to hide those badges. Simply click to exclude (turning them red) on the edit profile page. Note: Hiding a badge does not remove your access to that document type in the queue.

User Feedback
Kibin user feedback is published in this section on your editor profile. Every customer comment you receive -- the good and the bad -- will be stored here for everyone to read, so remember to always do your best! All user feedback does take 24 hours to publish, though. We don’t want mean and untrue things about you showing up on the internet! We do not publish harassment, harsh language, or unjustified complaints. Learn more about quality assurance here.
If you want to "pin" a favorite piece -- or several favorite pieces! -- of user feedback, simply click on the star icon next to the comment and bump it to the top of the list. All new feedback shows up below your pinned feedback.
