Updating Your Personal Settings

If you want to be paid, receive notifications when new documents hit the queue, or be alerted about direct requests, you must update your settings. Modifying your Kibin settings should be straightforward, but here's a bit more about each tab:

My Profile Tab

Personal Info - Here you enter your first and last name as well as your pronouns. Your full name, as you enter it here, will show up on your dashboard. Your first name and last initial will show up on your public Kibin profile. We respect all forms of gender identity and expression and wish to avoid misgendering in the online space. Your pronouns are not displayed to users but are noted on your internal profile for administrators.

Contact Preferences - The primary email address entered here will be used for all Kibin correspondence including payment notifications, customer feedback, the Editor Update newsletter, direct request alerts, and new document notifications. Note: Filling out the alternate email address section will send alerts to the alternate email address.

The phone number you enter here is used for new document and direct request alerts, so you must make sure this section is accurate. Even though we ask for a country code, only U.S. editors can receive mobile alerts. International editors who do not have a working U.S. phone number do not need to fill this out.

Password - Reset your password. Learn about setting up login with Facebook here

Profile - Here you can update your published editor photo and customize your profile URL to be more memorable. Many editors input their first name and last initial here, but you could be more creative than that, or you can simply leave the original number.

Preferences Tab

Time Zone - Be sure to set your time zone correctly so that your sleep mode and alert settings are accurate. The due date/time displayed on the doc details modal uses this time zone setting. (Please remember this when editing while traveling!)

Alerts - Your alert settings will be hidden if alerts are toggled to OFF. Turning your alerts on activates the alert preference display, where you can customize your alert settings and activate direct request alerts. Choose not to receive alerts during specific hours with Sleep Mode.

Vacation Mode - Vacation mode turns off your ability to receive direct requests by removing the option from your editor profile. Your profile will also display a message that you are not accepting direct requests at this time.

Payments Tab

The payments tab is covered here for U.S. editors and here for international editors.
